Meet The Team
Rouse (PA & Practice Manager)
Pat is normally the first team member that you will
encounter. She is Chester born and bred, moving to
Leicestershire ‘temporarily’ 30 years ago! She has a
background of 30 years of working within the NHS mainly as a
medical PA in Trauma & Orthopaedics (interspersed with a
little bit of Urology and Radiology at times when they
needed a spare hand!) She transferred permanently over to
the Private sector in 2012.
She particularly enjoys the communication and problem
solving part of her role especially when this involves
engaging with patients and Medical Staff. To help add a
greater depth and knowledge to her role and enhance her
communication skills, she was encouraged, in the not too
distant past, to undertake three years formal training in
Contemporary Psychodynamic Counselling (two years of this
under the auspices of The University of Leicester) gaining a
qualification with distinction for this.
When not at work ‘organising and nagging’ Mr Ashford, she
particularly enjoys spending time with her family which
includes two robust rugby playing sons, daughter in law and
a much longed for ‘dainty’ granddaughter. Her hobbies
include all aspects of dance from Ballet to ballroom to
helping teach salsa and anything French be it drinking the
wine, visiting the Country or watching their rugby teams!
Ralph is a
Consultant Anaesthetist with specialist interest in
Orthopaedic and Gynaecologic Cancer Surgery & ENT Surgery.
He qualified in London and undertook his Anaesthetic
training in Leicester . He is the Training Programme
Director for Anaesthetics in the East Midlands (South). He
shares rugby as a common interest with Mr Ashford both at
Syston RFC where he coaches and as a season ticket holder
for the Tigers.
Janette Gross (Consultant Anaesthetist)
Janette is a Consultant Anaesthetist with a
specialist interest in Regional Anaesthetic techniques for
Orthopaedic Surgery. A Kiwi, All Black fan and graduate of
Auckland Medical School in New Zealand, she has FRCA and
FANZCA fellowships in anaesthesia after completing training
in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. Her NHS practice is
based at Leicester General Hospital where she is Lead
Anaesthetist for Orthopaedic Surgery, an educational
supervisor and senior general duties consultant with a
strong leadership role in quality and safety matters.
Another member of the team who is a Leicester Tigers season
ticket holder she regularly reminds the other members of the
team of her Antipodean rugby heritage.
Masih (Surgical Assistant)
Victor is an experienced Orthopaedic Surgical Assistant and
regularly works with Mr Ashford and also Mr Gabbar (www.spirehealthcare.com/leicester/our-facilities-treatments-and-consultants/our-consultants/mr-omar-gabbar).
He works at Leicester General Hospital as an Orthopaedic
Scrub Nurse when not acting as a surgical assistant. He has
worked in Orthopaedics since 1992, qualifying in Punjab,
India and gaining further experience in the Middle East
before settling in the UK.
He is the only member of the team to prefer the round ball
game to the oval one!
